Newbie to R2R Chem?

Ammonia Zero
Nitrite Zero
Nitrate 20
All. 15 drops
Calcium 440PPM
Also this is my second pink tip as the first died

I am about to turn off my phone v light remove the carbon from my aquatop 500 filter and treat with chem clean wait 48 hrs then 20%water change and add buffer ??? Which I am confused with thank you all n advance PS 90 Gallon

Why are you using Chemi clean?

Nice aquarium. Are my eyes playing tricks or do I really see a screaming skull? Great photos by the way.

Your system looks like it has a case of green hair algae, yes? I don’t think that is related to the coral death though. The death might be a coincidence (bad luck) or something like low nitrate an phosphate levels. Can you tells us more about the issues and how you are treating them?

Thanks for your assistance, Yes it is a screaming skull( from my niece) I really haven’t started treatment I know I have a case of hi alk (15 drops) and nitrate (20) so my local pet shop Marks ark suggested a water change and add buffer, a reader on R2R saw my photo and said I had the red cyano so I was also going to use chemiclean see photo of my aquaria chemical collection

You have 2 kinds of tap water treatment bottles, 4 kinds of buffers which IMO should never be used in a reef tank. Do you even know what half those products are and what their uses are?

Lets start with the aquavitro balance, seachem marine buffer, and the fusion2, all alkalinity additives. So while your trying to bring your PH up(marine buffer) your adding alkalinity, and could be why it's so sky high 15DKH.

Someone sold you on a whole lot of magic potions in a bottle. lol If that was my LFS that had me buy all the crap, that would be the last time I set foot into that LFS.

I see your nitrates are 20, any idea what your phosphate levels are? I've found vibrant worked great on cleaning up the GHA, but you have to fix the cause of it first.

I didn't mean to come off the way it sounded. All that stuff has a purpose, but know what they are used for, and some of the consequences of using them are.

Hey no worries, I am so new to this and just happy I am getting advice, My PH is 7.8

OK, I just wanted to be sure it was cyano you were trying to treat and not the green algae.

I Normally get my water tested at my LFS and they never mentioned phosphates

I just got it tested and it was .5 phosphate, again thanks for the advice everyone very appreciated
