About two weeks ago I got my 75g tank and I have set it up. The current setup is Fluval 306 filter with a 3 bulb t5 light system. One is actinic two are 10k coralife white. I am what appears to be in the middle of the second stage though already in my tank which I thought was pretty quick. My amonia levels are down to .25 however my nitrites are up to 3.0. I am just wondering how long it take for this stage to complete and for the Nitrates to start going up currently they are at 0. Also currently I have 10 lbs of fiji live rock as well. Let me know if anything should be changed or if I should look at getting any more stuff for the tank. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hello Ben and welcome to the hobby. You really need to let that tank cycle. I would say about 30-45 days. Then at that time all your levels should be good. Remember you always want your nitrates to be zero Ben. Also I would recommend adding a little more live rock. You do have 75 gallons of water and you could have plenty more. Just be patient on adding anything before that tank cycles. This will save you a lot of money and aggravation. Post some pics so we could take a look. Happy reefing!!!

You can add red sea bio-spectra it will help guide the cycle make sure you put the right amount in to much will hurt the tank.

Normal cycles last from 6-8 weeks, no tank will go through the same cycle so its impossible to say when your nitrates will start to go up.
On a 75g tank your probably going to want at least 75lbs of rock in there. Run a skimmer, and have some good flow.

I am just wondering I have a 3 bult t5 system and currently have arctinic bulb and 2 white ho t 5's. I am just wondering if I should have this setup differently any suggestions would be great.
