Hi all - new to this forum, AND new to Saltwater. I've had Freshwater for quite a while but just acquired an established 40 gallon tank, and I am finding it very interesting and, of course, at times a bit frustrating. SOOO much info and soooo many different opinions, even within my sphere of (quite good) LFS shops.

Anyhoo, I've got a couple of clowns (not sure what variety) who have been with the tank for it's life (maybe 18 months) and a new Anemone who is proving to be quite shy and reclusive (to the point where I as worried he might have decided to curl up and die he has been so reclusive, curled up and inactive).

So he has made his way to an outer edge of some rock, right on the sand (rather than being buried in the rocks as he has been for the past week), and now one of the clowns is doing sort of wiggling real fast up to him, kicking up a bunch of sand around him, etc.

Sorry, I can't figure out how to upload the mp4 video I took.

Whats up with the clown?

Cool. There was a period this evening where both clowns were having at it pretty aggressively. Looks almost like they were trying to bury some eggs or something, wiggling around in the sand in front of and around the Anemone. Hope you're right, and hope this encourages the Anemone to feel at home and come out of its shell a bit.

Depending on there age they may be looking to lay some eggs. Mine just laid some on the rock under there anemone
