Hello reefers...
ive been into reef hobby almost a year now.
I got 40g breeder sumpless with just HOB aqua c remora skimmer...everything is doing great. Ive been using mj1200 with hydor wave maker attachment and 1 ebay powerhead for water circulation and ive been planning to change it.any reccomendation on powerhead replacement for the ebay one that I got or should I replace both?

How much flow are you looking at? How much total flow is in there right now? What kinda $$ are you looking to spend?
Have you looked at MP 10 or 40?
Have you looked to WP 25 or 40?
Possibly Hydors, which alot of people use.

Thanks for the quick response...right now it has approx 800 gph total...im looking around 900 to 1000 gph..budget is a bit tight right now but I dont want to use cheap ebay again.

Hydors
The MaxJets in Circulation mode are pretty good.
JBJ Oceanstream
Tunze Stream
Sicce Wave Surfer
Aqueon Circulation Pump
Take your pick, all very good pumps.

Thanks for all the response!!!
Another question do u guys prefer powerhead controllers like hydor?to simulate wave?or just continuos flow 24/7?

It is my belief that random flow and wave simulations are definitely the way to go...however equipment can be kinda costly. I recently bought a Koralia600 and am very proud with its performance, 600gph with 4.5W. I got it for around $20-$25, just shop around online. Don't forget to load the shopping cart, S&H can get you in the long run.

Your flow should run continuously, unless you get a crontrollable one, then one might slow the flow down a bit at night. If your looking at the controllers, thats where your going to get caught with some $$.
