I'm just starting a reef tank and started looking at options...wow... Is it ok to mix sponges, mushrooms, and corals.. And of course the fish will be reed friendly...

Ive picked out sponges, mushrooms, and corals I want but want to be smart about how to introduce each.?

Sponges I would hold off on for awhile. . Mushrooms are corals and are relatively easy I would say.... as for coral what where you thinking.... also how old is your tank... has it cycled and what are your parameters?

Silly I guess but I was looking at the coral nugget box on aquacon... I purchased tank from someone that was established.. Water testes at local store with all parameters good.. I dont specific numbers with me right now

What size is it and what is your commitment to it.... generally I'd say start with some soft corals like mushrooms and spas maybe a few laps corals before you stock heavy lps or sps cuz those can get hard and require more maintenance and money... also pro tip always do you're 10% weekly water changes... but tank size will determine exactly what is appropriate for you

This tank is 75 gallons.. And I'm excited to make this beautiful and put the time and money to make it so

Well that's big enough for pretty much anything... I would say pick up some soft corals and slowly move from there.. start slow you don't want to add too much at any one time... do a lot of research on light and flow requirements and make sure yours match also different areas or your tank will vary in these specs to allow for coral varieties...placement is key as some are aggressive. .. I'd recommend a lot of research andd picking up your own test kits... also Mr saltwater tank sells some great guides that are very straight forward feel free to always ask questions

Not so much there are specific names for each corals but then there are general categories and sub categories. ... check out unique corals web page they have some great stuff and I always buy from there... I'd say for now stick to the soft coral and zoas/ paly section and look at Google images to see what a grown out version of what your planning on getting is something you're interested in cuz they can look much different from their frags

Spas was suposed to be zoas and laps was lps lol hate auto correct

Yes you gotta love some zoas... I also like ricordea florida and yuma mushrooms ... lava lamp shrooms discoma shrooms are nice too... some easy and non agressive lps would be blastomussa and duncan corals
