Hi Everyone! I am new to having a saltwater tank. I am only putting in it live rock, live coral and one saltwater fish. I know I have to wait awhile to add the fish... but how soon after my tank is set up can I start adding the coral?

Once your tank has properly cycled you can start with a few of the easier/cheaper corals and see how they do. All tanks have a period where they are a bit unstable and /or go through some algae outbreaks until they settle down to be able to sustain more demanding corals. ( at least for newbies). You might want explain your set up and what's going on with your tank at the moment for more detailed advice.

Good luck!.
Mike

Don't add any fish until you know your tank is stable - let the live rock cure properly, and test your water (you can bring a sample to your LFS and they'll test it for you!) before you put in any livestock.
Aquariums take lots and lots of waiting and patience...
Good luck! :]

Welcome to R2R! Patience is the word that you will here most of the time. It is very important to let your tank cycle for at least 2 weeks. Usually the first thing you can add is your clean up crew follow by some easy to care corals (softies)
