I've been in FW for 10+ years.. tanks up to 480g. Lots of DIY. After a snorkeling trip in April I decided to go SW. I'm running a Spec V with a pair of clowns, inverts and a couple of corals and I'm curing the rock for a 93g cube. Two 20g long sumps, eshopps skimmer, Apex controller, diy top down algae scrubber. Can't wait to get it up and running.

Welcome, you've come to the right place. I'm a newbie to SW as well. Ask lots of questions here, and read read. Looking forward to seeing more.:)

Thanks. I bought about 60lbs of rock for it. 3 large pieces of pukani. I started trying to shape one and broke it all up... Gave my wife the chisel and hammer and she made exactly what I wanted out of the other two pieces.... She's really getting in to this tank with me. The kids are going to like it better than my 210g FW tank, as they may have a little more say in the creatures we put in it.

I am also a recent member of the Atlanta Reef Club and my main FW LFS helped a lot with my 5g. Reef Shac has some awesome coral and is close by.

I'm also thinking about getting the new Apex. I might have gotten carried away getting the, now, classic and starting to mount it up. I like the idea of outlet based current monitoring a lot.

210 7x2x2. 2x cichla melanae (xingu peacock bass), cichla kelberi, 3x osteoglossum bichirrosum (silver arowana), 2x petrodoras granulosus, megalodoras uranoscopus. The newish kelberi ate my last two semaprochilodus laticeps. This tank is in a window. It's got some pothos growing from the overflows. One filled 20g sump with filter socks. Used a settling chamber and currently housing the kelberi so he doesn't eat the expensive xingu. That overflows to another 20g sump with trickle tower. Two DC 12000l/h return pumps. Cheap LEDs.
