Hi Guys, my name is Ricky. I am planning on buying my first aquarium 12 days from now. I think I have settled on a Biocube 29. Any tips about this tank set up? any one have experiences with it that you can share with me? I am planning on only having 2-3 fish and the rest corals and inverts. Thoughts?

Welcome! There are some great articles on wetwebmedia.com on setting up a marine tank. Any specific questions you have feel free to post here and there is a great group that will help anyway they can.

Hello and welcome to r2r and to the hobby. Best advice is to do your research and take things slow. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask :welcome:

Hi Ricky and welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy your stay and I'm sure you will learn a great deal about your requested tank. Looking forward to seeing pics when you get it.

Welcome to R2R! Thanks for joining and please make sure and post often!

Welcome! Are you getting the biocube HQI? This has better lighting than the traditional stock lighting, which is better for the corals.

Hi Ricky! Welcome to R2R and the hobby!! You should definitely start you a build thread when you pick your tank up!!

Welcome to r2r!! I am new to the hobby and have a 29g Biocube. It is great to learn on because you have to do regular tests and maintenence on it since it is a smaller tank... I upgraded lighting from the original 2 power compact lights to one 50/50 power compact light and two blue LED strips modules. Also the inTank baskets that were previously mentioned are a great investment. I have the 3 tiered media basket and the refugium with the LED magnetic light... My refugium holds some LR rubble and cheato as well as a place for my copepods to breed. In the media baskets I have Filter floss in the top chamber, purigen in the middle chamber and chemipure elite in the bottom chamber. My water is very clean (besides the diatom bloom I had saying the tank was finishing its cycle). Do alot of research and ask questions here. Everyone here has been very helpful with my Biocube setup. Oh PS - Get ready to want to get a bigger tank. I am already looking for a big tank :bounce:

Wow, I didnt know these existed. Thank you so much Scretreefer!! do you have any experience with these?

Thanks Cooper32803! Ya, i can already tell i am giong to want a bigger tank before too long. Thanks for all the other info too. Not really sure how the inTank baskets work but I am going to look into it right away!

No problem, if you have any questions feel free to ask since I just went through the setup and cycle of a biocube. I may not know too much since I am still learning myself but I am willing to help anyway I can
