I understand, he is only about 3" right now. Just fed this morning he wasnt interested. But...i poured in some reef chowder and he ate a lot. Perhaps his preference is live foods.Welcome to the Salty Side of things.I know from experience when it comes to raising tangs size does matter. Not sure how old he/she is but a 110g may have him a bit depressed and not wanting to eat. He will eventually outgrow the system sooner then later. Just a thought. Your in the right place for advice. No, I'm not the tang police. Just sharing from experience.

I am somewhat newer to the hobby. We have a 5 month old tank which is doing pretty decent. We have a Red Sea 525, so 110g DT. We have fish, inverts and corals - softies, euphyllia, ricordea and a few LPS corals. Parameters are all within normal range to include: Alk 9.3, Mag 1430, Calc 435, Nitrate 7ppm
My question...we have had a Naso for about 10 days. (Didnt QT) His lateral line is showing and belly seems pinched. He is active during feeding, but doesnt appear to eat very much. He is nibbling on rock work and frags throughout the days. He is not being outcompeted for food either. No bullying and all other fish are doing great.
Should I worry? TIA

BTW - I was also going to ask the size - so thanks for posting!! - Smaller tangs tend to need a LOT of food as they have a large growth spurt over a short period. I would make sure that he is getting no compoetition etc. I know you mentioned you did not see any - but sometimes it's occurring when you're not observing. A camera can be helpful if you have one. I.e. a lot of chasing - means more food is needed. aAgain - good luck!!I understand, he is only about 3" right now. Just fed this morning he wasnt interested. Wow, thanks!! Appreciate the info!!Hi and Welcome! Glad you joined.
You mention having fish for "10 days" and "fish won't take nori" ... and it makes me wonder for how many days you tried. In my experience, its the repetition, usually a minimum of 4 days with 2x (or more) feeding attempts before changes in eating happen (nori just leave it on for 1 day, then take off clip over night and new bit in morning).
Your description of foods you are feeding sound spot on. I think time is what you are missing... if he does 'reef chowder' then you've got something to fall back onto until such future time that he transitions. They say the magic in this hobby is patience. To me, what you've written plus the additional details you've shared, it sounds like your fish was stressed without food where ever it was before you (wholesaler(s), LFS) but it sounds like you'll take the time to ensure your fish gets what it needs. You are a good fish mom!
Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

I did post a couple pics - but it's hard to get a still photo of a swimming fish. Tried a video too, but it wouldn't load. I did get him to eat some live Brine earlier, so I think he may just be picky for a bit. I've gotten some great suggestions here, so I appreciate the troubleshooting. Have a great night!Welcome to R2R. Have you tried any Nori - or any other algae product. Do you know anything with regards to if/what the fish was eating where you got it? Symptoms like you describe do not usually appear quickly - so IMHO it's not something you are 'doing wrong'. Unfortunately I can't view any pictures (if you posted one) - I would be concerned about a couple things:
1. The fish has some disease thats not immediately visible to your eye - that is causing it to be 'sick' and not eating well - leading to the thin-ness.
2. The fish has a parasite (internal) - whether a worm or flukes etc. which is causing it not to eat - or not eat enough to gain weight.
3. The fish was collected in some way (cyanide, etc) that has caused internal damage.
As to whether you should worry, I would have a low threshold for separating the tank and depending on the symptoms treat - IF - it's not getting better - or especially if worsening. As others have said - a varied diet, etc is a good start. I assume the other fish are all doing well. Please keep us updated!!!
