Hi everyone, I've been lurking and gathering info for a little while but as I start up my second marine aquarium I may as well just dive in here and stay a while.

My name is Lisa and I have a 75 gallon seahorse setup that is quickly becoming a coral tank also. I wasn't going to do corals in there but I stumbled upon a hammer at the LFS and fell head over heels for it. And now I'm loving corals too.
Stock in that tank :
2 H. Erectus (will be adding more)
2 scooter blennies
1 Green Mandarin Dragonet
1 Clarkii
1 fire fish
1 six line
1 yellow clown goby
1 pajama cardinal
3 Banner cardinals
1 cleaner shrimp
1 green brittle starfish

Hammer coral

Anyway, that tank is doing awesome and I'm super pleased with it but there are fish that I would LOVE to have but can't because they just won't go with my ponies. Enter the new 55g setup... This will be my reef tank. It was a Craigslist purchase so it had a lot of necessities with it... Sump, plumbing, skimmer, great lights... Just needed new bulbs. It's halfway through its cycle (which is so much easier with an established tank in the house!!!). I had no idea. Lol.

I'm really looking forward to getting this reef setup settled and playing around with it.

Nice to meet you all!!!

Are the sea horses doing okay with te other fish? I've never tried them because I've heard they won't get enough food because they are such slow eaters. Keep updating you might just convert mr!

They do well because I handfeed them. I intentionally picked small, meek fish for this tank. Particularly ones that were being picked on. They have all meshed into a very nice group and feeding time is quite the sight to see. I feed the fish their fill first then stand by and make sure the ponies get all they want of the food. It's time consuming but also very rewarding to see all my kiddos meet me at the glass when I walk by. I agree that in a mixed tank it's a challenge to make sure everyone is fed properly but I enjoy my time spent with them so it doesn't seem like a chore. I have to do the same with my freshwater tank to make sure my dwarf frogs get food since the Angels try to eat it all ;).
