Hi all
I'm a relative newby to reefing, bought a second hand Red Sea Nano tank with sump underneath, and lots of equipment came with it including a TMC Reef Skim 300. It worked fine initially and then the pump that packed up (the previous owner did say he had problems with it) so I bought a new Skimmer (same brand etc) however there seems to be a lot of small bubbles that are coming from the side of it (please see video) should this be happening? I have checked that everything is attached properly and it seems to be, are the bubbles it just "settling" or is this a problem?

Also how high should the water be in the chamber as it doesn't seem to get the bubbles high enough to the top (the controller for the air intake is set to C05 currently and can go to C09 but the old one was only set to 03 and seemed to do the job)

WELCOME TO R2R!!!!
I do not have experience with that brand and model. Having said that, new skimmers need some time for adjustment (days to a couple of weeks) before they start behaving as they should. Check on the manual (or on the manufacturer's website) for the specific water level height for your brand and model. Some brands are extremely finicky on this while others are not.

Hi , thanks for the reply. unfortunately the instructions and the manufacturers website just shows how the parts go together and nothing about the water levels or how to stop the micro bubbles appearing :-(
