I just acquired a Oceanic 45 cube with Tek lights on top. Looking to get started on getting the sump. skimmer, and pump to get started. Any suggestions or recommendations on this equipment would be appreciated.

Chris

Welcome to R2R!

We appreciate your membership!

Thanks for joining and please make sure and post often!

As mentioned above do you have any specific plans for the inhabitants of your tank?

I wanted to start out with just fish and maybe add coral after I get the tank/me stabilized.

Hi Chris!! Welcome to R2R! Lookin' forward to seein' your tank come along!! Happy reefing! :D

Welcome to R2R!!! Congrats on your new tank. Please feel free to ask questions, a lot of wonderful people here to help!

well what kind of fish were you thinking on getting that will affect what corals and livestock you'll be able to keep in the future

I am aware that I need to think about what fish would go with which coral along with which fish get along with each other. This something the family and I need to decide. Fish could be any thing from a trigger, clown, puffer, wrasse, eel, angels, gobys, etc. Haven't come up with a solid idea yet. MAinly need to get the supporting equipment first then I will move on to the next step..

Hello and welcome to r2r and congrats on the new tank. Are you planning on building your own sump? For the sump I would go with the largest that you are able to fit underneath your stand. Has the tank been drilled yet? :welcome:

Hey Dcyco, welcome to R2R. I am curious as to the measurements of your cube. I have a 22" 46g cube. The equipment I use is an Eheim 1260 pump and I am currently in the process of purchasing a Tunze 9011 skimmer

The tank is what Oceanic used to call the SHOW tanks so it has a been pre-drilled and has a built in feeder box. The tank size is 24wx24hx18d. As far as for space for the sump I only have 22wx14dx30h to work with to keep it inside the cabinet stand.

Really nice tank I have been looking for one like this for a while. I think they are the perfect beginner tank. Where did you end up buying it?
Thanks
