The drop off is cool! I'd say as long as your ATO can keep up, don't worry about a lid. I like seeing the open water...and I don't have any jumpers in the tank. ;-)Thank you for the join! I'm not sure about freshwater fish, but there are lots of popular saltwater fish out there that love to carpet surf, so a lid is never a bad idea!
