Hello all,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the world of Salt water however I have more than done my research. I dove into the deep end and went big on my first one 220 oceanic. I got it for a steal on CL. Came with stand and canopy, sump with pumps and skimmer, the only major thing I need to purchase is good lighting it had a fixture with crow and 3x250w medal halides however all but 1 ballast is burnt out and I don't want to deal with that much heat or electric bill. I want to eventually get good LEDs but I am still recovering from the tank purchase. and will be for a while. I have found on Craig's list a T5 lighting system. However, it is not nearly enough for this tank. The tank was a running system so I got a little bit of livestock in the form of reef safe fish. Started 3 weeks ago, it went through a little mini cycle, lasted less than a week and has been stable ever since. I have added my first 2 corals already and they seem happy (green star polyps, green torch coral). Can anyone give me a list with pics of good starter corals... Prefer LPS and soft corals for now. Not ready for SPS and don't have the lighting for them yet I have plenty of room for the future.

I know I'm late but I appreciate the warm welcome. The tank is running extremely well. I have added a few more fish to the bunch and a few more corals. I love LPS. The fact that I can feed them good sized food items and the amount of variation they have is awesome. I have a list I wish to get but I am adding slowly to ensure everyone is good. I have 2 different frogspawn corals, 2 acan lords both are I posted in the grow out challenge. 1 bubble coral, a sun coral, it was looking rough when I got it but I am confident I can get it to recover. I like feeding corals...lol a small patch I GSP a small candycane coral and a small bubble tipped anemone. My tank was established prior to me getting it so I am not worried about it being too young. So far the nem (3 weeks) is happy. No nitrite/nitrate low phosphates, all others are right for hard corals. Fish are happy as well. I'm excited to be in the hobby finally and wish I would have started 10 years ago...
