@Alexblade1889 welcome to R2R!

Sorry but I don't have any experience with the kit you're talking about or "all in one" packages -- although some seem to be very popular. My suggestion would be to make sure that it's designed for saltwater rather than freshwater. I've had freshwater tanks in the past, and my saltwater tank uses a lot more equipment. I'd hate for you to start off with the wrong equipment.

Hi all I’m looking at getting into this fantastic hobby and I’ve been looking at the fluval 60 litre marine starter kit just wondered if there were any more on the market you’d recommend ?

Hello and welcome! :)

Be careful with All-In-One tanks. Some of them are very nice and you can have a thriving reef tank in many of them.

But be careful of the All-In-One kits that have "everything".

They usually come in a nice box with a picture of a beautiful reef aquarium, implying that you have everything you need inside. But I feel that is rarely the case. For example, the lighting that comes with them isn't capable of growing some of the beautiful corals pictured on the box.

Also the pumps tend to be weak and not provide much flow.

Welcome! Figure out your plan for what you want. Look at the nano and AIO forums for examples of builds you like. Narrow it down to a softy/LPS, mixed, or sps. Then research what you need for that plan. You can start off slow with fish only and live rock with stock equipment and upgrade as you go. Good luck and ask questions and do a lot of research!

This is what I was thinking of guys comes with a pump led lights protein slimmer sand and live plus there’s space in the back to maybe build a refugium not sure if it would have benefit on a small tank though ??? Appreciate any advice thanks in advance

Thank you but what you mean with softy/lps mixed or sps ?

Welcome. From my experience, AIOs are a great way to start, although 60 liters is pretty small. If you’re anything like me, you’re going to want to get something bigger soon enough.:). I started with a 40-gallon AIO and upgraded to a 100-gallon system within a year. And, like others said, you’re probably want to upgrade the light right away for a lot of corals.

Exactly what Deniseandy said above. Look into What kind of fish and corals (if you want a reef), and then look at tanks and equipment. I would agree with reeferpat and elini18 that something a little bigger might be worth it. My personal opinion would be something around 40 gallons.

Hi all thanks for your advice I think I’ve decided on going for a tank around 150 litres to start you’ve all been great and so welcoming can’t wait to get started and pick your brains some more many thanks
