Do sumps that have an adjustable water level, in the skimmer section have less detritus than sumps where the skimmer is mounted high?
Do the skimmers sit flat in the sump with no skimmer stand?
Any other advantages or disadvantages?

Nope. Only advantage is water level for the Skimmer.

Have you had a sump with an adjustable water level for the skimmer section? I noticed your prior post you designed a sump with a skimmer stand.

I tried one and I just didn’t like it which is one of many reasons I build my own. I wanted under flow coming into my Skimmer chamber and over flow going out and the adjustable ones were over flow on both sides which didn’t stir up the bottom of that chamber. My thoughts are if the incoming water is forced to flow through the bottom it will prevent detritus from building up in the sump vs the filter media ie socks or pads if they are being used.

no difference in detritus levels. The only advantage to adjustable skimmer section sumps is that different brands of skimmers may require different depths and it allows you to make the level match that required by the skimmer without having to make a stand.

Lol yes it does! I’m a lazy maintenance guy so I like to keep it suspended and catch it in the filter media.
