Newer tank, ALK is low

Newer to the hobby - tank cycled for 6 weeks. Have had three fish and my refug going for 2 weeks now. Fish seem happy.

Curious why my ALK is so low? Just because I have higher nitrifying bacteria or something else? Curious if I should start to dose ALK or wait.
ALK 2.1 dkH
Calcium 400ppm
Mag 1200ppm
Nitrate 10 ppm
pH 7.8 - 8.0
Ammonia & Nitrite been consistently 0

What test are u using and salt? Salinity? This a Fowlr? And the mag is also low if u plan in keeping corals. Ph needs a boost as well.

RedSea Blue bucket mix. RedSea Marine multi test kit

The salt when mixed properly should give u parameters in a certain range. The dkh for that salt is not 2.1. I’d retest.

Thanks - I just retested my salinity in my DT with my refract, right on 1.026. Maybe it is the test ALK kit portion that's off.

Went to a local store and got an API Alk kit for now.
tested and showing 9dKH, so we’re good! Guess my RedSea one is shot.
going to invest in a Hannity one too.
