Newer than New and clueless

It's a little town in Northwest Georgia. I actually get that question a lot, even from people who live in Georgia lol.
I know Chatsworth well! I’ve spent a lot of time at the arena there. I’m a little north of you. Always happy to see another peach! Welcome to R2R.
As some have mentioned BRSTV on YouTube has a video for everything. Also, you’ll notice here on the board, there is a section that corresponds to every question you’ll be asking. Just post question threads in those sections and you’ll get all the answers you need.
The search function on R2R is great also. Type in a question and you’ll likely find a number of threads with the answers you’re looking for.
Reef Stock Chattanooga is August 24&25. There will be good info there. A few of us from R2R are going.

Thanks for the info and the heads up about Reef Stock :) . I was starting to think there were no other reef keepers in my little corner of the world lol. My "local" fish stores are in either Atlanta or Chattanooga...at least an hour away, and traveling any distance over 30 minutes is kinda rough on me.

Yes. We are slim pickings when it comes to reef stores. Reef Chasers in Cleveland TN is nice and may be a little closer than the ones in downtown chata. I can be in Cleveland in just over an hour in there aren’t to many tubing buses going over the ocoee. Lol

Sorry traveling is tough on you. I take care of my dad so I can’t leave the house often myself. Shipping costs eat me alive. :(

haha. Put some dry sand in there with some painted rocks that look like fish and call it a day. Keep your life simple!!!! And welcome to R2R

Kidding aside, good for you for taking the plunge. Just keep in mind that going anywhere for more than a day will now require preparation and planning!!! Enjoy!! Ha.

Having to do overnight trips to Atlanta every 3 weeks for treatment already, so I'm no stranger to preparation and planning lol. Frustrating, difficult at times, and disappointing setbacks, but a rewarding end result that makes the effort worth it? Yeah, I can do that!

Hello all! My name is Pamela. I'm new to forums, and as the title says, VERY new to saltwater and reef aquariums. I've only had freshwater tanks, but always wanted a saltwater reef setup. Well, without going into detail and possibly upsetting anyone (keeping it family friendly), I got some news 4 years ago that has me working on my bucket list. It's time to start building my life-long dream reef aquarium! I currently have a 45 gallon empty tank, and no idea where to begin. It's going to be a gradual build and slow process, but that gives me a better chance of getting it right... right? I'm bursting with questions, and appreciate any and all help and advice I can get. Thanks for reading!

Hi Pamela and Welcome! I'm Lisa.

Glad you found us here at Reef 2 Reef. It is a great bunch of people. You'll learn a lot searching the Forums and reading your findings. As you'll hear over and over, the magic in this hobby is patience, but with your freshwater experience, you'll do great! Keep us posted on your salty journey!

Thanks for the welcome, Lisa. I'd start a build thread, but it wouldn't be very interesting, with me gathering the equipment piece by piece. I'll save that for when I start putting it together. Meanwhile, I read, read, read!
