Well, maybe not, but I think it's cool. I am going to start making multi zoa rocks. Mixed highend zoas on a small, flat rock to grow out.
What do you think?

I did this about a year ago with not so many as you! I have a piece of rock now with about 500 polyps of legions of evil, purple haze, gspe's and devils armour all mixed together. You're frag rock looks great! Will be neat to see this grow out and see which ones take over.

Show us a pic!!!

it'll look cool when fully covered but the most aggressive ones will take over the whole rock sooner or later... and most of the time, it's the uglier ones that take over... :(

great idea though... it'll be fun to see progression shots of the rock... :)

Unfortunately thats not an easy task. i tried to shift the rock around for you so i could get a pic but upset them a bit. When i tear down my tank in a few months i'll be able to get a much better shot, alot of them are grown onto other pieces of rock now and i dont want to tear them up tonight.

You usually end up with one or two colors as they choke out the rest. It's usually the ugly brown ones that win the battle in my tank.

I tried it w/ Mohawks and Rings of Mars.
The Mohawks dominated the Rings of Mars (I guess that is why they also call them Yellow Bellies :snicker:)

Yes, I would have to agree, they would have to be thinned out from time to time, ( and new ones built from those fragged) but that is what raising zoas and palys is all about, isn't it?

I was thinking of trying this also ( actually I have some I mounted on one rock ) But I already know I will end up cutting the rock if one of the zoas dominates another type. This is why I am afraid to glue my zoas on all on my main rocks lol I hate to see some zoas go

finally got a photobucket account to work.
This is the rock when I glued the zoas on 11-21 and now. It lost a couple zoas and I removed the protopalys. Some are starting to grow out. I might add some Candy apple pinks where it is bare.
Note the Legion of Dooms. Those are some fast growers.

You have some of the nicest corals flric! I would love to have the selection of zoas/rics you have..
That is a very kind reply. I do appreciate that. I work hard at keeping them healthy and trying to give them the best. Some day I hope to have a nice collection like many of the other collectors here on the forum.

That's what the threads are about, sharing info and pics. Post away. The more sharing all the better.
