I've been stalking the forums for some time now but i decided to come out of the shadows and start my own build thread. This will be my time adventuring into the aquarium hobby. At first I said to myself," this will be easy. Add some water, salt, live rock, and then some fish. No problem." LOL Yea right! Haha. A lot of planning has gone into my build. Maybe 5 months before water was even added. So i have been researching, researching , and researching. I found my tank off CL and it was originally a fresh water tank. So I've cleaned it out with vinegar and water. I was given a fluval 406 canister filter along with a heater and a dual T5 light with the tank. So before I can even start adding water my wife tells me, I need to paint the basement before setting up the tank. Painting Done! I've filled the tank with tap water. I know most of you are saying big mistake but I used a conditioner and will be doing a 75% water change and adding rodi water when i set up the rodi system. Right now I am currently running dual T5 lights, MP10wes, and a 300 watt Jäger heater. Would be running the filter but it's making a lot of clacking noises and just not working. My plan is to build a 20gal H sump. I have Vertex Omega 130 skimmer and a Eheim compact 3000 for the return. Also installed now is a Digital Aqautics Reef Keeper Lite Plus with a moon light controller, ph probe, and temp probe. The sump will be added soon maybe next week. Here are my pics so far.
