I just added 7 green Chromis to my 55 gallon. After the first night one is staying with his nose in back right corner. Is their something I can do to destress her? Is there a medicine I can treat in the QT that will help newly added fish that seem to not be doing well?
Tanks,

I'd expect those numbers to solely dwindle until you just have 1 left. I wouldn't be too concerned with 1 dead out of 7. Not sure you can do much for it either, someone else may be able to chime in.

Why do LFS and many other web sites claim these to be peaceful schooling fish? Most claim they end up killing each other after time... I don’t believe this fish was bullied or OutKast, just didn’t acclimate well????? I’m guessing. Should I separate her and see if she does better?

Hey there, she is probably just scared and social distancing from the others. Is she safe in the corner, as in not being picked on? IF she is safe up there and eating, she may be fine and that might just be her comfort zone. I have a damsel that got bullied to hell and he did the same thing, stayed in one of two corners by the powerhead. He is perfectly fine and they leave him be now. Have had clowns and various other fish do the same thing in the past, only issue is these fish that hang out up top often jump, so you want to be sure there a lid.

Usually bullied chromis don't last very long. If it's tight and pale and sitting in a corner barely moving, I doubt it lasts much longer.

Mine hang out in the corner all the time. No good reason that I know of, except that's what they do.

Chromis like branching corals. When I had a gorgonian in that tank some of the chromis hung out in there. If you have anything like that in your DT maybe it will help when they get there.

Chromis do have a way of dwindling in numbers according to what I've read, but I don't believe it happens overnight. I added 6 to my DT in Sept or Oct 2019, and only recently (within the past 2 weeks) did the numbers drop to 4.
