Newly added Monti looking alittle weird.

Title. I bought this Tropic Thunder monti I believe on 12/30. I forgot the exact date. It was some time around New Years.

added it and it looks like it’s either bleaching or losing color.

My assumption is that either my lights are the culprit or just typical bad luck.

I’m running Radion G5 Pro XR15 at all blue with white, warm white red and green at 3% all day from 11am to 8PM (Also have reefbrite LED as supplemental light.)

the frag rack was that it’s on is pretty high up so I lowered it to about alittle under the middle in hopes of helping the monti bounce back.

I didn’t set acclimation mode.... until light night. I think it’s the lights being too bright.

Alk is about 8.5, Calc is round 430ish. I also posted 2 pictures of 2 SPS I have that seem to be nice and happy. I was assuming since it’s a Monti it loves lights and basically can grow anywhere under a wide range of settings...

As you have already done, lowering the rack to the bottom of the tank should help. Give it more time to acclimate then raise it weekly to same height you are planning on placing it in your rock.

Will do. Should I do a inch or so weekly?

I usually plan on a month, so divide the distance from bottom to placement by four.
