Newly bouncing ricordia

I have several ricordia Yuma in my tank. One group (gold brown) has started swelling dramatically and at times look like they will burst. Other groups (green and orange) look normal. Any ideas what causes “bouncing” and why only one group affected. Pictures attached

Unfortunately, no one really knows. It seems like LED's has some sort of relation to this 'bounce' phenomenon, but as I said, it's unconfirmed and anecdotal. It would be super cool to have some sort of scientific study done on this in the future!

Besides the point, those mushrooms are looking great!!
 
Thanks. I thinks it’s interesting that only one colony is doing it and they are all under the same lights. Maybe the pigments differ and make one color phase more susceptible.
