hello fellow fraggers!

Can you tell me if this is still healthy?
Just bought it, shipped Friday and been in my tank since Saturday morning. All other corals in shipment are great. The only issue was it was fragged the day before shipment.
What do you guys think?

Ok, thanks for the advice. I don't know what melting or any other bad issues look like.

Never Buy Fresh Cuts.

Chances of it Dying are increased a Million Times.

And on Top of that it is Even More Stressed because it was Shipped.

I Wait a Minimum 2 Weeks (Usually I wait a Month) before I Sell Any Corals that I Frag.

Selling Fresh Cuts is a Terrible Practice and is Bad for Everybody.

I Really Really Wish This Practice was Stopped!

Spread the Word.

I couldn't agree more. Every time I order from a new vendor and I receive fresh cut frags I just cringe.

Order from Well Known Vendors (Cherry Corals, Jason Fox, WWC) or Buy in Person.

Personally I Buy most of my Coral from Frag Swaps.

You get to see it in person and can see how it looks.

Yea, Cherry Corals is one of my main go to vendors and I always get great things from them. I recently purchased from WWC and everything was phenomenal, its just that occasional times when I think "Lets try this new vendor" that I get occasional surprises and unfortunately living in MT we only have one LFS and no frag swaps. I have to drive to Denver which is 8 or so hours away to do any sort of frag swap - but I try to make it too Reefstock annually and I always enjoy my time there.

Thanks for all the info, I ordered from Your Reef-very clean frags but he did say he ran out of the specific one and cut a fresh one. He said if it died he would replace it but I hope it doesnt! lol it looks pretty under the blues :)

Speaking of lights, I just bought an AI prime for my nano and was wondering what kelvin to run at? My LFS said 18-20K, which I LOVE the colors but is that too instense for my zoas? Most are mid-top range because I used to have a 14K LED and they loved the top.
Any thoughts?

Ill check out those 3 sites too :) Jason Fox has AHmazing coral selection! but a little pricey for me...

How do I figure out when frag swaps are? (silly question LOL)

it doesnt look so happy to me. I wouldnt want to disappoint my customer honestly

Knowing the coral was just fragged, and after dipping, i would have done a 24 hour lights out followed by slow light acclimation. Anything to help reduce any more stress it's gone through.

Oh...he said he would replace if it died. I hope so. It's an Oompa Loompa and so pretty now that I finally have the right spectrum.

How long should I wait before I call it? It was delivered Saturday and it wants to open up, some days it's right side is retracted with a little bit open on the left-other days vice versa.

To give you some hope:

Last Monday I bought a small zoa colony from a guy off Craig's List that looked great in his tank. I get home and see how far apart our salinities are and his is 1.015 and mine is 1.025. I kinda panicked and slowly raised salinity to the bag the coral was in over 45 minutes. They zoas would peak but not fully open each day. It took 7 days for the majority of them to fully open (yesterday).

Thats exactly what I would call it...peaking! lol
Thanks for the hope!
