I have a fish that is on a journey through QT and meds. After 12 days in therapeutic levels of copper, the black zoster started to develop what looked like fin rot. Since it had been in copper for more than 10 days, I decided to take the chance and transfer it to a fresh QT so that I could treat it with kanaplex/furan-2/metro and skip the rest of the copper cycle.

After 9 days in the meds, changing 25% of the water every two days, etc, the fish is looking good. Fins appear to be on the mend, and no signs of any other issues. Tomorrow will be the 10th day of meds, and I will stop.

What's my next step? Another period of watching for anything that might show up? It's been through copper, it's been through antibiotics, seems like it is likely that it will be disease and pest free now. I know that time is my friend, and I am not in a rush to get it in the DT, but I am wondering what folks do at this point?

Watch & wait. Feed vitamin soaked food, probiotics and maintain clean water. You can even dose vitamins into the water to help as per @jsker.

You did the right thing. When a fish has an infection, the presence of copper or CP just makes it worse because both are immunosuppressants. The fish needs clean water to dose antibiotics into. :)

Makes sense. How long is "long enough" at this point?
