My current tank is a 40 Breeder with a 29 sump.
Current Livestock:
2 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Yellow Watchman Goby
1 Pistol Shrimp

I had a lawnmower blenny but he died (was murdered) a few days ago so looking to add another fish in soon. What would be a good next fish to add?

I know I want to eventually add a royal gramma, maybe another lawnmower blenny, a few Bengaii Cardinals, and possibly a flame angel or a coral beauty or something similar.

What other fish should I look into adding, and what should be next up to go in?

You might be maxed after a grama and one other fish. Those angels need more space than a29gal. Check out a fire goby to go in with the grama

Sorry, read to fast. I would still think most dwarf angels need about a 50 min. Also do you have coral? Angels are prone to nipping.

Have you thought about a tail spot or bicolor blenny instead of the lawnmower? What about a hawkfish? You could maybe add a wrasse like a pink streak or possum to the tank.

who murdered the lawnmower?

bangaii cardinals will pair up and kill off the other bangaiis, so get a pair or just one

royal gramma should be fine

i'd stick to the pygmy angels for that tank. flames and coral beauties get kinda large and are pretty bossy. although from what i've heard the pygmies are pretty aggressive too

if you're open to other blennies, the meiacanthus fang blennies are awesome fish. they don't eat any algae, but they're very active and would go nicely in a tank that size

Starcki damsels are pretty similair to dwarf angels in size and temperament, though a little more peaceful but can be somewhat assertive, ive found especially to the likes of other planktivores and wrasses added after him/her. But if added last should be ok.

The primary suspect is the pistol shrimp. I found the blenny near the entrance to its tunnels with several little tiny red spots. No other signs pointing to anything else.
