Hey guys,

So I'm planning my next upgrade and wanted to see everyone's opinion. I'm considering a roller mat or DOS for 2 part. I've been running this tank for about 18 months now. It use 4 filter socks which I have 3 sets of. So I have 2 sets that get cleaned while the third is in the sump. I've been battling cyano off and on for at least a year. After a major outbreak, I can more or less keep it at bay. Every morning I dose with red sea foundation A B C depending on my tests results. I have my Apex running with Trident taking my tests. I also have.a DOS doing constant water changes. MG is pretty rock solid, I only dose it make once or twice a month. CA is up and down, which surprises me because I have a fair amount of corals that I would expect to consume it. Alk on the other hand is getting used every day. So my question is: would I get better tank results with 2 part dosing or having the roller mat taking out more garbage/nutrients? I should also say that I don't replace my filter socks until all 4 are full and the sump water starts to back up. Thanks for your input

I haven't used a roller mat but have heard great things about them. If you don't mind dosing by hand then go with the mat. But the mat isn't absolutely necessary so if dosing gets on your nerves then get the dos. It's just personal preference but I'm leaning towards roller mat!
