yikes......those previous pictures that are claimed not to have any actinics need some major MAJOR white balance and saturation correction then......
Keep in mind that the frag I photographed was shipped, in the dark and out of a tank for almost 36 hours. I have a feeling that they will color up a bit after they are in my tank environment for a while longer. Then again they might not. I do see the lighter speckles in the polyp reflecting blue light.
There was fill flash used in the shot I took, but it is still an exact representation of what it looks like under my 14K’s at this time.
wait....marvinsreef lives in va?
i go to atlantis every once in a while and never find anything amazing, i did pic up a baby orange yuma there but nothing extraordinary
they always have snowflakes in and what not but in terms of zoas its always the same ol
maybe i should head over more often
The owner of Atlantis is also Marvin. Two different people. I've only been to Atlantis twice but those two visits, he had a whole bunch of palys in, including pink elephants, african blues, some tubs blues. You just need to look real close as some are loose polyps.
i've been there about.......50 times...lol (well, at least since he opened up several years ago)
BTW.......they are moving several blocks down the road starting in mid-july to a bigger, better place (can you even imagine anything better??). they are calling in an army to move the official deltec tank....lol
theyre moving?!
and as for the palys, last time i saw a pink elephant there i asked how much and they said REJECTED....well not that but they said it wasnt for sale! lol
they had this pink centered yellow skirt paly and i was like wha?!
