The previous 6 gallon nano cube I had met its demise at the hands of my AI prime being pushed against the wall and putting silly amounts of force right where it clamps onto the tank....a small not so biblical flood was recorded that day in Vacaville Ca.
For this setup my equipment is as follows:
Nuvo fusion 10
AI prime
Stock return pump
InTank media basket
InTank suface skimmer
An ancient ebo jager (made in germany) that makes me a bit nervous
PP-4 Wavemaker/pump
Autoaqua micro ATO
Currently breaking in an aquatic life 115, but I dont think Ill use it.....its just too loud. Going to give it time to build the coating up but not looking good for the 115....well sounding good that is.
Live stock as of today:
Two blacker Ice clowns that seem to be frenemies
Afew small hermits
Halloween crab
Camel shrimp (will be taking this out, the way it moves just creeps me out)
Bali BTA
Some Zoas
ORA Redplanet frag
Setosa frag
Jack-o-lantern'ish lepto
Some snails
Tank has been up for about a month now, started with sand and one of the live rocks/water from a very old stable system.
Checking parameters like a crazyman makes me happy, I never read an ammonia spike and used an entire salifert tesk kit up in two weeks.
Ive monitored nitrates and phoshates daily and they have stabilized at .05 and 2 respectively with rather heavy feeding of the anemone and clowns.
Ca is around 400 since day one
Mg is at about 1350
Alk hovering in the high 9s, would like to see this a bit lower
Ph stable since day one, goes from 8-8.2 daytimes
I would really like to be able cover ever cm of work with coral. Hopefully the delighful Mandarin colony will take over the entire branching arm which I plan to accent with a nice digitata of somesort.
The top part of rock I hope to dominate with a red planet and La Lakers scroll colonies. I only have one low flow spot under the powerhead in the sandbed so I have the option for maybe one true Lps or some sort.
A little video to show the somewhat unbelievable power of the pp-4. My wp-10 is still going strong just wanted to try out the pp-4....and wow. It funs like my mp 10 at about 40% power on its lowest setting.....but with much narrower flow yet better wave motion. Blows the wp-10 out of the water no question.

Im thinking about tearing the second baffle set out and going with a comline 9001, as I dont think water changes alone will cut it with the two clowns fully grown ontop of the other livestock.
Future thoughts also include a doser once I get some more sps, a chiller come summer, going with a chill solutions, and maybe upgrading the return pump and splitting it with an inline media reacter if the bioload ever gets high enough.
Also planning on an apex once tax returns roll in next year.
As I addon Ill be rolling out new posts, pretty excited about the little reef.
