Hey everyone. I'm looking at new lights for our 6 foot 125 mixed reef. We currently have Current USA R24 Leds.

I'm wondering if 3 of these would work, or should I look elsewhere?

NICREW 150W Aquarium LED Reef Light, Dimmable Full Spectrum Marine LED for Saltwater Coral Fish Tanks https://a.co/d/2cRj40f

Would prefer to not spend a lot on a new light if possible..... And would like for it to be mounted on the tank vs hanging.

Only feature I really care about would be a ramp up and down, but that's not necessary.

Thanks!

I've heard good about the sbreeflights and actually upgraded some some of my black boxes to there led panels a few years ago. Smatfarm on Amazon is another option as is noop psych lights. You'll probably get a lot of opinions. I would look around then try to find reviews. I run radions and a hydra but if I had to do it over again I think I would look for less expensive alternatives. I do like the ramp up and ramp down capabilities tho. Especially with a tank in the living room and another in the bedroom.

The Nicrew 150 (3 puck) will work well.
As you know, it does not come with a timer or much control with exception to 6 different manual intensity settings for blue and whites. Simple timers work well, lights on, lights off, corals don’t care much about ramping, people do though.

Love the spectrum used. Some near UV in there.

Three will definitely grow anything up to Acros in your tank.

You’ll probably fine you run them say 50% max.

We've got a cheap nicrew strip led on our qt tank. That nicrew made our corals look incredible when we had it on our first 20 gallon nano. If they're that good still, I'm sold seeing they do great at growing.

My only concern is positioning. We have 3 hob filters on our undrilled 125.

Not sure Bout the 125. But the 50 offers hanging mount option with the wire line and hang mounts uncluded...

I would go for SmatFarm. Rules of thumb is more fixture is better than one powerful fixture. So you better off with 3 SmatFarm 90w than 2 nicrew 150w.

Did you end up getting these for your 125? I'm in the same boat currently and would love to hear what you went with?

I got the Necrew 150 for my 125 mixed . I am happy with 3 lights however they are strong and I'm definatly needed to turn them down. I purchased the Hyperreef controller and they work well with each other. Some issues with mounting on my rimmed tank so the set screws had to be altered( remove the nut at the inside end, carefully) and i used a Kessel mount replacement block to stabilize the tank hanger from the inside. Worked great. Now trying to fine tune so as to not burn any corals!!

I just set up the 150w lights with the controller. For some reason my blue lights stay on at 1% even after shut off time. Any idea how to fix this?

Is there a moon cycle?

you'll need to modify your schedule i think , 1st and last of the schedule time has to be 0% blue, 0% white

I planning on 75 possible 2 of them side by side beginning of 2025. I was thinking of getting of Necrew 150's but seeing this thread, I think I might go for Smatform 140w G6's

I am curious how many would I need for 75 Gallon
