Well guys I’m happy to report. On the stock lighting of a Fluval Evo. It works flawlessly. 1% brightness all the way to 100%. It’s a perfect dimmer or ramp up timer for this tank. I decided to use it as on and off for my fuge light no ramp up. Under 30 volts and 4 amps it shorted out immediately. So the fuge will stay on mechanical. But this timer will be on the wall with my temp controller and wave-maker controller. I’m a tech guy. I wanted to do reefkeeper or apex but couldn’t justify the cost for an EVO. So I’m trying to mount some things below tank on dry wall that I can control. Also have an idea for a feed switch but my build photos will have to wait till next weekend!

Feed switch will be a wired or wireless switch that connects to the pump on surge protector. Also cleanly mounted. Anyways I wanted to chime on on that little timer. It’s spot on with the Fluval Evo stock lighting. No flickering, no crazy brightness differences from 10-20%. It’s smooth whole way through. So for those of you looking for a timer on the stock Evo light this is defintely the one.

You’ll also need these to give you some lee way from the stock power adapter on the Evo light to the timer. Otherwise that timers on the floor and I’m looking to mount mine. Power outages yes it’ll loose time but it’s easy to set. Programming it saves pain in the butt to set.

Fluval should of built this into the hood and through a fan in it. Anyways that’s been a big battle a good ramp up timer and adjustability for the stock light. This is your answer. You can’t go blue only but you can switch between full on or just blues. Unfortunately the stock light isn’t dual channel.

The reason I posted well some LED lights could be at full on at 60% intensity depending on their dimmability and power draw. This NiCrew timer was literally made for it. $12 if your running the stock light that’s your timer.

I probably should of titled this Fluval Evo timer!!!!!!! But their may be others looking to do something similar. Each lights gonna be different. Lol the Evo 100% is dimmable and this timer does work well with it.

Why it shorted out with my ACKE Grow light cuz that would of looked clean. Two of these timers the temp controller and the wave maker. I’m unsure. I know it was pushing the 30 volts. 27 volts to be exact. It’s probably realistically meant for 24 volts. That’s my thoughts. So lol I’ll keep the big bulky timer on the brick. Then again I could probably run that fuge light 24/7 and go dark for short periods by hand.

intially when I bought this timer I’m thinking at 75% intensity this light could be full on. That’s just how the dimmable world works Some LEDs do it better. That Evo light surprised me from 1% to 100%. 1% is the moon. You don’t even need to switch to blues. Very smooth ramp up with that light.

So in regards to the Fluval Evo 13.5 light and probably the rest of their products this timer does work well. It tells me their lighting is very dimmable. Plus their not much on amps or Watts. Lol my grow light is more on the volts. So anyways! It’s an experiment. If you have a stock Fluval light I’d say it’s worth the $13 bucks but mileage may vary with other products and brands.
