Niger trigger not eating after 7 day vacation

Hello my Niger trigger has been hiding non stop and not eating. I was on vacation for 7 days during this time the fish weren’t fed. No scratching good water paremeters. Any ideas on what’s going on?

The fish was fine when I left.

Have you lost any fish to this problem yet? (see below)
Are any invertebrates affected?
Respiration rate of affected fish (in gill beats per minutes, count for 15 seconds and multiply by 4)
Are the affected fish still feeding?
What remedies have you tried so far?
Digital image of the fish with the health issue, taken under white light -
- if needed, indicate by drawing a line around the area in question.
A short video of the fish (linked YouTube videos work well) - this is perhaps the best information that you can supply, as long as the video is clear.

In terms of respiration rate, it would be in your best interest to actually get a healthy baseline for all the fish in the tank. Write it down. It'll come in handy later.

I would do a water change regardless of tank parameters. Could anything have happened? Any lighting change? Any bullying? If you have an air pump I'd add aeration for some time. I know saltwater hobbyists do not like air stones but I have seen it calm Triggers down and keep them calm. He should be okay but I'd feed him when you are gone at least with an automatic. Also I'd check the water for voltage. Either with your fingers or a volt meter. Seems like something changed when you were gone. You may have stray current.

Were all of these fish quarantined? Not eating for an entire week is not good at all. This could have caused extreme stress and allowed disease or parasites to take hold.

This is fiction that has become internet fact because it's been repeated so many times. It's mostly used to explain unexplained deaths but doesn't actually cause problems with livestock only us humans who are grounded. Not to be a jerk but I'm open to proof that it is true. I've had 50.0 volts in a tank with no I'll effects and Jay Hemdel has confirmed stray voltage is a red herring.
