I know that some people change thier water flow rates during the day and night. I was wondering what the benifits of this is, and what the flow rates should be. Just curious. Also i have a 35 gallon Hexagon with a jeboa rw8 (700gph) wave maker and a hydor 425. Current running consistent flow 24/7

I run the same water flow day and night. I tried having the wavemaker flip to constant flow instead of pulse at lights out, but decided it was best to keep the oscillation pattern the same day and night. I do alter the intensity and frequency every couple of days to create a more real world environment in the tank.

I keep my flow the same day and night, but I believe some people slow the flow down at night.

I've also read that on natural reefs, there is more flow at night compared to the day time.
