So I peeked into my tank tonight with the flashlight to check on some new LPS corals I've added to my aquarium when I notice quite a few of these very large sea bugs. They range in size from 2-4mm approximately, quickly change direction by curling in on itself like a potato bug, are quick and tan in color. I tried my best at snapping some pics but can take video if required. Are these good to have or not? I've never seen pods as big as these guys

They are Amphipods. Good cuc
Awesome, thanks! I either didnt have amphipods or never saw them in my previous tank. These things are huge compared to the little white copepods that live on the glass

Yea, they definitely have some size to them compared to copepods. You're welcome

Thanks everyone! Yeah, some of them were pushing close to 1cm in length. I guess it means I can start shopping for a wrasse/ other option that's appropriate for a 20 gallon aquarium lol

Some pods are carnivors ,if your zoas close up and deteriorate from being irritated by pods or disappear ..you know why .
I'm on the side of the fence where some species of pods are bad..
Just my personal opinion from experience .
