Appears to be a nighttime filter feeder. I have never noticed until tonight. Looks like long strings with sticky tips along them. Pulse out in the current and retract to holes in the rock when light shines on them.

I know...poor pictures! I’ve been on google for a while but can’t find the culprit.

Hard to tell - looks kinda like a digitate hydroid to me. Just a guess!
That’s exactly what they are. Thank you. Found a video on YouTube of them. I didn’t realize they were that different from colonial or Medusa hydroids in that they are actually mobile.

Now to figure out how to eradicate! ;Punch
