Nikon D5600?

Looking at picking up the Nikon D5600? I like the addition of SnapBridge compared to the D5500. I am not a huge camera guru, but would like to dabble in the arts.

Here is a link of a used one I found at B&H. Is this a wise purchase???

...or would the 18-140mm kit be a better buy?

It's a good camera for the price, just be aware that you may need to replace the battery with a used purchase but they aren't too expensive. I have a Nikon D3200 and I wish it had several of the features of the 5000 series, SnapBridge being one of them.

Awesome thanks! Which lens option should I go with? Like I said I am just getting started. The 18-140mm or the 18-55mm and 70-300mm?

That 18-140 is supposed to be a better lens than the 70-300mm, the 18-55mm is bad for aquarium photography IMO.

I use the Nikon 35mm f1.8 prime lens (no zoom function but lets in more light for generally sharper images) but you may want a larger prime if you have a larger aquarium than I do. The 35 is perfect for my Nuvo 20 but I could see it being limited with larger tanks as far as getting tighter images.

I'm actually looking at getting the Tamron 90mm Macro lens at some point because I've heard it's good for close-ups of corals and fish in an aquarium setting.

Borrowed my moms D5100 for a bit, but picked up a Tamron 90mm Macro. Came in the mail at work and stepped outside to take a few test shots.

This is my first anything, so I will have to play around a bit to get use to everything. Im loving it so far though. Cant wait to get home and take some coral shots!
