I saw my new Hawaiian spotted puffer nip at my mandarin and I just noticed the yellow tang has a couple small nips. Is this fine? I have not been feeding the puffer that much food because I just ran out and need to go grab some more. The last thing I want to do is return it. Any tips? Its only 3 inches right now.

That’s the danger with puffers. They can be mean and aggressive. It may die down but it can escalate quickly. You may have to rehome the little guy:(

I don't know what to do because I can't give him back. He has nipped all of the fins of every single one of my fish and I think he's either killed one of my filefish or its hiding. What do I do?

If I don't find a fix now, Im afraid he's going to kill all my fish.

I agree with rehoming him or start a new tank with fish that would be compatible. If you are running a reef some of your corals may be in danger as well.

That’s a good place right now. It’ll give time to figure it out.

They are a very good looking tobby puffer. Good luck to you I think I’ll refer to him as jack the nipper.

Pretty fish. Do you have a local club? If so, this would be a good time to get to know people. Also I would talk to the LFS. I know you said returning him isn't an option but it's always worth asking.
