My powder brown and half black and white tangs are nipping/ taking bites out of my new lps, hammer, frogspawn! What can I do besides flush them! My new LPS are beautiful so I guess they want to destroy them! I had a huge tracky that disappeared too.. Feeding more nori isn't working. Any suggestions.

How much once per day? If your nutrients are under Controll I would increase your feeding to see if they leave the corals alone. Just keep track of nutrients and feed accordingly.

I'd try something more 'meaty ' time being personally rather than the Nori if they aren't going for it....mysis?

Flush them?

They are too big to flush, just kidding, just frustrated, I'll feed some mysis more often too.

Yes I was having problems with nutrients. Doing water changes and using "chemicals" to get rid of red slime. I was using one cube. Maybe I was not feeding enough.. I have 5 tangs, 2 clowns, 2 chromis, blenny, wrasse and purple fish, can't think of the name right now. Since this post the added nori seems to be working as long as I keep nori in the tank. I just spent so much money on these lps. Just don't want them to be picked apart.

Are your nitrates low and it was cyano? Or they were high? I chemicleaned a while back for cyano and it helped, at the time. Since then I have dumped the skimmer which seemed to have worked in my case over last 5 months. My tank softie dominant so that was likely the culprit, eating nitrates at record pace....I am a lighter feeder as well, always have been, I always worry about uneaten food, probably to an unhealthy obsession.

Yes it was cyano. In fact it's still on my center overflow. After I dosed red cyano rx it came off all the rocks and sand and my nitrates went sky high. After several water changes, Last time I checked they are back down to 5 and my phospates were at .25. I did a water change yesterday of 20 gallons. (150 gallon tank) Doing the RX treatment for 2 weeks made my dkh go down to 6.0!!. I dosed and now I was up to 8.4. My CA went up above 500 and my MG went down to 1260. Dosed MG to bring it back up and I haven't checked CA after the water change. All I can say when using red cyano rx your levels will go nuts. Skimmer, sterilizer are now back on and I put Dr.Tim gel back in. Talked to DR. Tim and he said I may be skimming too much. Maybe I need to turn it off? I need to bring my phospates down.

Here is a video of the coral. Does anyone know what I can do to help it recover. I started giving the tank brightwell restor.
