just finished my cycle and made a water change nitrates did not go down is it normal i am making more water to make another water change as i need to move some fish around and if its safe and normal ill make that water change for another tank thanks -

yess using rodi water

AquaC Urchin Pro In-Sump Protein Skimmer
thart is the skimmer i am using
the nitrates are at 10 ppm
the same that were before i i did the water change
there was an ammonia and slowly went down as nitrates went up and after ammonia hit zero the nitrates stayed the same and didnt move at all
not even with the water change

How high is the nitrate, how big is the tank, and how much water did you change?

okay so then i can add a fish and a crab to the tank ?
and i dont have to do a water change for now ?

How long has the tank been running? As long as you have 0 ammonia it is fish safe. Keep an eye on ammonia after you add a fish or two. wait a few weeks between adding fish to give the tank time to adjust to the bioload.

Like Robin said, Ammonia and nitrite (not nitrate) are 0, you can add the first fish.

okays :) those rare at 0 all week has been like that :)
and i will move them today just gota bring down my salinity for some reason is to high nothing top off can fix :)

Just put one fish at first and wait a couple of weeks. Slow addition is the key to success.

10ppm nitrate is not a big concern. A 20% water change should drop the nitrate 20%, provided you are not adding more in the new water you are adding. So, 10% should have dropped to 8%.

ill add the fish and the hermit :)
check the water chemistry every three days for two weeks to see how it goes
