I have fought nitrates for it seems like forever. So much I just gave up in my biocube for months. Today I put in 3- 4.4 gallons of nutri-water. And I'd say I changed probably 80-90% water. I did have to mix up a bit more to fill it back up. Maybe 5 gallons max. I also added purigen, chemipure blue, and another chemipure. I took out some media balls to make room for all that. Currently my nitrates are around 25-30. I bought and in tank media basket thing for my biocube to go in the middle and some waterproof led grow light strips hopes to get cheato in it. Anyhow, I'm not sure how I can get that all in the tank together. I'm considering if I could maybe get magnets for the in tank basket and put it in the tank portion of the biocube. I plan to have cheato in it. Is that okay to have cheato in that basket in the tank itself and not any of the back chambers?

Take out the bio balls. The chaeto should also help. I’d probably also take out the purigen for a while and let the live rock and sand in the tank pick up some of the bio load.
