Nitrate problem

So I am having a nitrate problem it’s between 20-40ppm (according to my API kit and i know not always accurate) in my FOWLR tank. I did my monthly 10 gal WC last week and did my regular 5 gal weekly WC today. I cleaned all of my sponges and collection cup today as well. I also dose CaribSea AquaBiotic Boost once a week with my water change. I feed my fish one nano mysis cube and a pinch of pellets daily.

I’d say that’s not very high for a fowlr tank. I’m close to that with an sps dominant tank. What’s your concern?

I would switch to Red Sea or Salifert since the color chart on the API will drive you mad trying to figure out if your nitrates are off the chart or okay. Out of curiosity do the caps on your API kit leak at all when you shake them?

Well I thought high nitrates are bad for my fish and yes they always leak

Nitrates really don't have too much of an effect on fish, only corals and inverts are really effected by them. I would increase water changes for a few weeks and even reduce feeding for a while to allow your equipment to catch up
