Nitrate problem

I have a 93 gallon reef tank with a 1 and a half in sand bed and 7 fish.I feed 1 mystic frozen fish cube 2 times a week and marine pellets 2 times a week.My water volume after rocks is about gallons.I do a 4 gallon water change daily using my apex Dos and I cant seem to get my nitrates under 10 to 15 .All my other levels are spot on.My P04 is 0. I've tested the new salt mix and nitrates are 0.Can anyone give me help.Thsnk you

Can you try another test kit? With that water change schedule one would think it would be lower than what you are reading.
BTW, the times of trying for zero nitrates are gone.

I can try a different test kit.I just figured new water tests 0 and tank water tests 10 to 15 thought test kit would be good

As a general rule, both coral and macro algae have a ratio of 560:30:1 of C:N.

Why would you want to deprive your coral & fish of these basic minerals to grow?

Let them be. 10-15 Nitrates is not bad. I run anywhere from 10 to 30 depending on how heavily I fed that week. I would however get the phosphates up. Phosphates of zero for a period of time will invite Dino's and if that happens you will curse the day you were born.

Re: Test kits, I find that for Nitrate the best ones to be Red Sea and Nyos. I prefer Nyos as the color is easier to distinguish. Phosphate testing- get a Hanna.
