Currently considering carbon (vodka) dosing to a Deltec NFP 616 reactor or setting up a Reef Octopus Biochurn 150/170 recirculating biopellet reactor to reduce nitrates. Not sure which way to go. I've carbon dosed before but not in a reactor.

Anybody have experience with both carbon dosing and pellets and want to chime in?

20-40 on API. My goal is to keep nitrates around 5 ppm.

Anyone like to share experiences maintaining nitrates with biopellets or a vodka reactor? Any insights?

I'm no expert by any means but corals need some nitrates and phosphates for nutrition.
