Nitrate reduction ?

As a piggyback to this...how do you increase nitrates (I understand they can be too low)

Remove any biopellet reactors.
Stop carbon dosing.
Remove macro algaes.
Reduce mechanical filtration maintenance.
Increase feeding schedules.
Increase fish bioload.
Dose nitrate directly into the system.

I use Cheato and NO POX From Red Sea I dose 2Ml every day
I use No Pox - it works. You can't just dose 2 ml - it depends on the results of your nitrate and phosphate test and amount of water. Test a minimum of weekly and follow instructions with No Pox for amount to dose with. With a 75 gal tank, I had to go as high as 9 ml and adjust it to the test results. It took me several weeks to get my phosphate and nitrate under control. Also you should have a skimmer with No Pox.

Dose Vodka. I have Dosed Vodka for years and always had excellent results. I use 100 Proof, bottle costs about 12 bucks at the local BevMo store. I use a Bulk Reef Supply 1.1ml dosing pump. Comes on for 2 minutes every afternoon. I feed daily, sometimes twice a day and ALWAYS, have Zero nitrates. I never get Red Slime algae problems. You need to have a good skimmer cause you'll start pulling some nasty stinky skimate. I only do 10% water changes every 2 to 3 weeks. Super easy set up.

I also use nopox..about 2 - 3 ml daily. I also run carbon for clear water. My nitrate stays between 2 - 5 in a very heavily stocked tank.

Any recommendations with using nopox? I just purchased some and was going to go that route with hopes of maintaining more stable water parameters. Also hopes of reducing algaes and number of water changes.

Just start by dosing half of the recommendation amount and increase or reduce it if need it.
I dose DIY NoPox, I stared by dosing 4 ml daily to a 80 gals system then increased it to 7 ml once I got NO3 on check then I reduced the dose 1 to 2 ml daily.

I have a 240lt tank and I dose 2 - 3 ml of the nopox daily. Never go over the recommended dose no matter how high your nitrate is at the moment. It will come down quickly enough.
