I've been using this test kit

and i just noticed on the color wheel chart it has a high range and low range, but the instructions dont give any direction on how to test for high range. I'm assuming the instructions on the box are for low range testing? I believe I use 5ml of water in my test.

For high range you use 1 ml tank water and 15 ml rodi.
it states that on the card with quick instruction and it also has the conversion from low to high range

This may help. At the very bottom

no, i just check every so often. i'm reading around the 10 mark on the non pro kit. Now that I thinka bout it, I don't even know if the instructions on the box are for low or high range test.

What test kit do you have ?

You need the pro kit to get that low range resolution and it's not the same dilution either. The non pro kit is 5ml Ro/DI. Get the pro kit, it works great.

I use Salifert for nitrates. The two ranges are the same test but one you look at from the top and the other through the side. I find it really easy to read.
