What's a safe level for nitrate in a FOWLR tank

Unless you have a "sensitive" fish, 40 would be my max....but nothing higher. That would tell me major water change.

I agree with 30 or under. The higher the nitrate more of a chance for unwanted algae.

The recommended level for FW is that under 20 is optimal, and you want it at no more than 40. For SW, I'd keep it at 10 or under if you can.
