can a tank have to little nitrate for corals
 
Yea, try keeping some nitrates in tank, if you bring those levels to 0, corals seems to hate that and don't grow or open happy. Xenyas are a good test for nitrates, the high you have the faster they pulse

ok is there any food i should feed them they are leathers the reason i am asking is my colony of xinia dyed but i have to keep the nitrates down for the seahorses thank you for the post

I would recomend you to add some Iodine, that will helps a lot to your soft corals and the soft parts from any of your corals
