Hard to say, I would start with 20PPM or more, some will let theirs get to 40PPM

It's not an emergency situation unless it is above 100 ppm. How much above, i'm not sure, but maybe much higher. :)
 
My 150 mixed Reef has always been low under 10 for sure closer to 5 most of the time but lately I have a spike near 20-25 but my corals and tank have never looked this good so go figure. I do weekly water changes for last three years, pellet reactor, purigen in sump, phos guard in sump, big skimmer 24/7 , chemiBlue, I know it’s because I over feed my fish, but fat fish = healthy fish
