I tested my water last night and no3 was at 3 (nyos) and po4 was at .01 (Hanna ulr). So I dosed sodium Nitrate to bring it up to 12. Tested again today and it's at 5. So I'm dosing again today. I have two clowns and a cbb in the tank. I feed about 1 mysis cube over the course of the day plus some pellets. I'm going through the ugly phase and have some algae on the rocks. I'm skimming (mostly dry) and have a roller filter. I also have chaeoto growing in the sump opposite hours of the light schedule.

Any advice here? Should I feed more?

How old is tank? Sounds like you are still going thru the new tank aging process? Sounds normal that ur algae and chaetos very effective at eating the nitrate.

Why are you trying to raise nitrate? Do you have corals that you want keep an elevated no3 for them? If so it might be better to just spot feed them or dose amino instead.

Simply feeding more isn't gonna be as effective imo at reaching balance since 2 clowns can only poop so much. If tank size permitting you can add more fish to increase bioload.
