Hi no matter what I do I just cant seem to get my nitrates up in my 600ltr sps tank is there anything I can put in to raise them a little, at the moment nitrates are zero. and the corals look washed out, everything else is perfect. Thank you

Yes I do have a skimmer a deltec and I do feed the corals I have never had this problem before and been keeping sps corals for a number of years now so not a novice .

I was in the same boat for a few months without realizing it was such a easy fix(in my case) by just feeding the fish more and now i broadcast feed corals twice a week with all the pumps off. i thought my LPS were going to go bye bye and my SPS were losing color. Everything has been doing awesome in my tank since

and also btw, i still test 0 on nitrates and phosphates... for a while i was running my skimmer on a timer as little as 4 hours a day... but now im back to 24/7 for the most part

I'm having a similar issue. My nitrates are very low and phosphates are testing 0 both with salifert kits. I have steadily been losing colony after colony. About 6 weeks ago we moved from a 190gal to a 240 gal tank. The only thing that was changed was the substrate and I added a bigger return pump for flow. My orp reading is running around 308 using apex. One of the guys at a lfs told me to dose hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) at 1 ml per 10 gallons for a while to get the orp to come up.
I've lost so much acro that in willing to try it. I have been using an amino acid, and dosing to bring up alk and cal. Mag has been running ok. All the zoas and lps seem fine too. Although last night my brain had its mouths open and it was a little shriveled looking...

My Phosphates are fine o.o3 its just my nitrates thats a problem I feed quite a bit now but it just makes no difference nitrates are untraceable, I already dose amino acid all other parameters are perfect.

Could their be an O2 deficiantcy that the LFS is implying. If so they make a O2 Test kit. I wish my phosphates were as low. now mine is .12ppm . Kind of an irony from my point of view. Looking to learn something from this thread.
